Annual Festivals UK
With Covid restrictions easing, let's take a look at what this means for festivals such as Glastonbury, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Notting Hill Carnival.
Notting Hill Carnival
Notting Hill Carnival takes place every year on the last weekend of August. It is London's biggest street party which celebrates the Caribbean culture through colours, music and flavours. Elaborate floats and colourful costumed performers parade the streets of West London. Dance away to the sounds of the steel bands and calypso music or try the mouthwatering food bursting with Caribbean flavours and spices. Due to the pandemic in 2020, Notting Hill Carnival took place online with plenty of music and entertainment. The carnival dates for 2021 are yet to be confirmed.
Glastonbury is a yearly event that takes place at Worthy Farm in the Vale of Avalon. The Glastonbury Festival is the largest music and performing arts event in the world. Due to the pandemic, Glastonbury owners Michael and Emily Eavis have had to cancel Glastonbury 2021. To avoid disappointment they will be livestreaming the festival online on a smaller scale. The event will take place 22 May 2021 and will feature livestream performances from Coldplay, Damon Albarn, HAIM, IDLES, Jorja Smith, Kano, Michael Kiwanuka, Wolf Alice, DJ Honey Dijon, plus a variety of unannounced surprise guests.
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Upcoming or established artists and performers from the music, theatre, comedy, dance and many more industries take to the stage to showcase their work and to entertain us.
