Metal Singing Bowls
Metal singing bowls have been used in various ways as part of therapeutic, meditative and soothing practices for thousands of years. When you move your stick around the rim of the sound bowl, or when you strike the bowl with the mallet, this creates a rich vibration that is known to relax the mind and ground the self in peace and presence. These meditation bowls have been made in such a way so that their sounds tap into something deep within the human body and soul, and for many they become integral parts of the daily wellbeing routine. As the sounds of metal singing bowls help the mind focus in on one thing and remain in the present, it means that they are of great value to any form of meditation.
Hand hammered and machine singing bowls
We have many singing bowls available in our collection, of both the traditional and modern kind. In terms of traditional metal singing bowls, we have some hand beaten bowls that are made in the ancient handmade style. These hand hammered bowls have been made by expert artisans from places such as Nepal, with some of the bowls even made through organisations set up to help refugees find work. You may also like to explore the modern machine made singing bowls. As these are not handmade, you may find them slightly easier to work with, especially if you are a beginner. The more uniform production process is such that it may be more straightforward to get the vibrations going, as you will not need to contend with those little idiosyncrasies of shape that the hand hammered bowls may present. However, you may like then to progress to the handmade singing bowls so as to connect with the same ancient meditative technology that goes back millennia.
Red Tibetan sound bowls
There are singing bowls of various different sizes available here. With the smaller ones, it is best to hold them in your fingertips. The larger bowls can be held in the palm of one of your hands as the other moves the striker around the rim of the bowl. As well as a variety of sizes, there are also a variety of colours. On top of the traditional mixed metal hand hammered style, there are also some decorated red singing bowls. These come complete with red colouring and are adorned with gold Tibetan script. Each one of these bowls also comes with a striking stick which completes the package.
